This looks like a 38 caliber pistol. It is a five shot revolver. The action seems to work with the hammer and the trigger. There is pitting on the exterior. The handle is in good shape, detailed and it has a chip on the butt plate. The barrel open or release works great and the shell eject works fine and snap shit again was fully open. The revolver cylinder advances. It seems a little loose, but it does advance. This is a Forehand and Wadsworth. From what I read it takes a 38 short or a 38S and W. This is a top break, number is D1368. These are manufactured between 1878 and 1890. on the barrel, it says forehand model, 1901. Then it says Hopkins and Allen firearms, Norwich, Connecticut.
